poor sucker. while he poses for this heroic portrait, he's about to be ambushed by those 5 guys coming up from behind. Well at least he looked cool long enough to get this kickass portrait done. Something for his larvae to remember him by.
I draw guys with guns sometimes and I feel funny about it. I don't think up war themes, but it always seems like a natural prop. It usually has some kind of stabby part on it too.
No doubt here that we're seeing his exo-skeleton! He should eat more :)
greg's story is fantastic with this image...begs a question...do you leave this great sketch as a story itself and let the viewer fill in their own story or does this inspire you to pursue a few more shot possibilities...
i've always liked your compositions, d...never mentioned it before but its true...and have learned a lot from them...
Dave: Yeah guns, swords, axes, and stuff like that make cool props, but you couldn't pay me to sit through a war film. Sci-Fi or fantasy war I can handle, but the real thing bothers me.
Joe: Thanks, means alot coming from you. Usually when I do a sketch, I never come back to it or do more studies. I like to move on and create new things, and let the viewer make their own story. You know about my short attention span; that's what drives me crazy about animating, I just get bored drawing the same thing over, and over, and over again. My dream job would be to make new stuff up continously.
Jav: Hey man, I see the awesomeness that comes out of you, and I should be the one asking that question...:) Thanks.
KB: You know we all like to make Jav feel bad about himself, it's fun. Yet the lil' guy is big enough to body-slam us with one hand. It's a cruel, yet dangerous game we play. And the bug-dude would probably kill anybody for the right amount of grub-burgers, does that answer your question?
